Instructions for Downloading and Installing Crossword Weaver.

This page contains four steps. Please print this page as a reference or scroll down and follow the steps in order.

Crossword Weaver is in demo mode. This allows you to try the program to see if it meets your needs before you purchase it. If you purchase an unlocking code, you enter that code into the Crossword Weaver demo and it will become the full version immediately.

Step 1 - Download Crossword Weaver (this is like bringing a new TV home in a box)

When you click one of the buttons above, a screen will appear that looks like this:

Choose "Save this program to disk" and then click OK. This will save the program on the hard drive in your computer. Do not run the program from its current location.

You will then be asked to choose a location in your computer to save the program.

Important: Please take note of where it will be saved or save it in a location such as your "My Documents" folder where it will be easy to remember where you put it. You will need to go back and find this file later.

Don't change the name of the file. After you click "save" the program will be downloaded. You will see a screen that looks like this:

Step 2 - Install Crossword Weaver on your computer. (This is like setting up the TV in your living room.)

After downloading you should have a new file on your computer called "Crossword Weaver setup.exe". The next step is to run (i.e., start) this file.

To do this, click on the Start button, then on "Run." Now choose "Browse."

Go to the folder (such as My Documents) where you saved the file to. Click on "Crossword Weaver setup.exe" to install Crossword Weaver and choose Open.

If you can not find this file or have any trouble, see below.

Step 3 - Start Crossword Weaver. (This is like turning the TV on.)

After you click Open, it will install Crossword Weaver. Simply answer the questions, and in seconds it will be done. Crossword Weaver will open automatically at the end of this process and you can begin using it immediately.

For future use, when you want to open Crossword Weaver, simply click on the Crossword Weaver icon on your desktop, or click on the Start button, choose Programs, then Crossword Weaver.

Step 4 - If you like it, buy it. (In the real world, you don't get to bring the TV home and try it before you buy it!)

You can buy a license to unlock the demo at any time, before, during or after downloading. The license number is an unlocking code that is specific to your name. When you enter your name and license number into the Crossword Weaver demo, it unlocks and lets you use all of its features immediately, even for the puzzle you started in demo mode. If you upgrade to a new computer, you can move Crossword Weaver to your new computer for free. Your name and license number will also allow you to unlock the program again if you lose it.

If you have problems:

• If you can't find the file "Crossword Weaver setup.exe" on your computer: Press the Windows "Start" button, select "Find," then select "Files or Folders," then search for the file named "Crossword Weaver setup.exe". Look in each drive starting with drive C:. (Hint: Change the "Look in:" field to "My Computer.") When the file is found, double click on it to install the demo. If this doesn't work, contact us.
• If it won't install right: Occasionally a file transfer stops early. Check if the size of the file Crossword Weaver setup.exe (right-click on it and select "Properties"). It should be about 2.6 MB. If your copy is too small, try downloading again, maybe from a different one of our sites. If you still have trouble, please E-mail us or call us.
• It said it installed successfully, but now what do I do? Follow step 3, above. Once you start Crossword Weaver, it will suggest ways for you to learn how to use it.
